    Default backup and sync application

    Hi,
On my windows OS I use FreeFileSync to sync my hardisks and make backups.
Which application can do the same on Opensuse 12.2?

Under "System Settings" click "Yast" then "System Backup" (it looks as if you can automate a backup there)

I don't want to backup my system, just a few folders like documents and etc.

I use unison for local backup to usb3 drive and also to keep a couple of local networked computers folder in sync. It is super fast and easy to set up. There is a one click install here.
    Kernel: 4.12.14-lp150.12.7-default x86_64 bits:
    64 Desktop: Gnome 3.26.2
    Distro: openSUSE Leap 15.0

Are you using this FreeFileSync? It claims to work on Linux as well as Windows, though I've never used it myself.

I chose an rsync script to do nightly rolling backups to a WD MyBook NAS. I followed these instructions.

It works well, but you should double check that it is working from time to time, or set cron to alert you via email.
