    today with an unbootable systems after an update. :-?

    Yup. My system would not boot after the update I did yesterday. ( Feb 12th ) After goofing around and reinstalling grub2 from the DVD I still got this "error: you need to load the kernel first." I was going to do a full reinstall, but did an update instead just to see what would happen. The system boots now. However, I do get an error flash by to fast to read just as GRUB comes up. I have checked the boot log and that error is not recorded. Should I worry about it?

    Dunno, grub2 is unfamiliar to me.

    We have had on and off errors from Grub 2 as it loads about missing files, perhaps a language file. While its annoying, it otherwise creates no other issue with the operation of openSUSE.
