    Default Starting Apache Solr

    Hello!
I am using OpenSuse 12.2 and have a quite annoying problem with my Java, that I can't fix ... so here it is
I now want to run apache solr, so I just downloaded a version from here Apache Download Mirrors
then changed the directory to the unzipped directory and entered java -jar start.jar
there is such file there but the response was:

    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.mortbay.xml.XmlConfiguration
    at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:366)
    at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:355)
    at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)
    at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:354)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:423)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:356)
    at org.mortbay.start.Main.invokeMain(Main.java:179)
    at org.mortbay.start.Main.start(Main.java:534)
    at org.mortbay.start.Main.start(Main.java:441)
    at org.mortbay.start.Main.main(Main.java:119)

and the solr is not running ...
can someone help me get through this, please

these are the openSUSE forums, you are welcome to hang out here and wait
to see if any Apache Solr users or Gurus wander though and have an
answer for you, but you might find your best strategy for finding a
quick and authorative answer might be to ask in a forum with lots of
    Apache Solr users..

but, check back here also....the next helper though may have both heard
of Apache Solr _and_ used it..

    hi!
I am not that sure that this problem is more about Apache solr or about Java and Jetty
    this problem
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
I am hoping means something more for some advanced user here...

I found that the problem is quite stupid but I will confess anyway.

So when I unzipped the archive with apache solr - I didn't checked to preserve the paths so when it was unzipped - all files were unzipped in one folder ... now when I unzipped it right - everything was working.

Thanks for the replys again !
    Best regards!
