Default 12.2 new install - losing task bar and window control when moving between windows

Just did a new install of 12.2. logged into user account and open two windows and started working just fine. After moving from one window to another I will lose the task bar on the bottom of the screen and at the same time I will lose control of the windows that are currently open. I cannot use the mouse to move the windows or close them with the mouse. I can use the mouse to select "file", but I will have to type the "Q" for quit to close the screen. I will not be able to mouse down to the option without losing the mouse pointer. To logout i will have to right mouse bottom on the screen and select leave than logout.

To fix the problem i have to log out of the user session and than back in for the task bar to comeback and have control over windows. Now after this happens several times logging out and back in will not work and I will have to reboot the PC.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Can't say I have seen this before. Did you do a complete update of openSUSE after you installed it? Is this the KDE or GNOME desktop? Do you have one or two monitors? What video chipset are you using? Want to tell us more about your computer?

    Thank You,

After the install. i followed the post install and the multimedia update, and completed all updates to the O/S. This PC was running 11.3 before upgrade and all work juts fine. I have four other PC running 12.2 with no issues. This was a from scratch install on a new drive.

1 monitor - vga connected, size setting 1920x1080, refresh 60hz,
Cpu: Intel Pentium 4 2.66 ghz Arch: i386, 512 cache
    Memory 1.6gb
    Display: 865 G, driver = i915
    Monitor Acer model E211h
    Desktop: KDE 4.8.5 release 2

Let me know if this helps and any other information you may need.

    Thank kkare

Can you make a screen capture and post it online of what you see? You need to get the file at or under 500 KB in size and I normally post png file types. I use this location: SUSE Paste and select image (Top Right, browse to file on PC, enter a user and picture name and select never for Delete After bottom middle. Here is an example of a posted picture: Multimedia and of course, photos work as well, but are often VERY Large file types.
