    How is that done? I've only used Yast, do I use something else?

    This is the QT UI of KDE, if you use Gnome GTK I don't think this option is there

    I hope you can see this image clearly.
    There are some choices to fix dependencies, I have to study it more. Any suggestions? I don't want to lose anything, but downgrades might be ok.....

    That didn't fix anything, but on the bright side, it didn't get any worse.

    The terminal feedback you are seeing is normal. I get the same, it's always been that way.

    Boot a live CD of 12.1 or 12.2 and try firefox in live session
