Gnome 3.4.2 zombie process on fresh boot, ok to ignore?

On fresh boot of Opensuse 12.2 64 bit Gnome system, before running any user initiated applications, a zombie process “xdg-user-dirs.s” exists on my system.
I have not found a way of killing it using normal methods (kill -9 … as root etc).

OK to ignore? ‘Zombie’ has negative connotations, but I’m open to the idea there might be occasions when a zombie serves a purpose.

There is no way to kill it. Zombie is process that already finished its execution and exited, but parent did not collect its status yet. They are not useful because they do not do anything, nor cannot do anything. Unless zombies accumulate over time, you can ignore them.
