Default Enlightenment from download.opensuse.org repo can't import png toedje

I recently installed opensuse 12.2 on my laptop. Then Since I use E17 as my
    desktop of choice, I added

    http://download.opensuse.org/reposit...openSUSE_12.2/

to my Repo list and installed E17. I'm mostly pleased with the way e17
works as compared to the versions of e17 I've installed to my other
    installed Linux distro(s).

One exception is that the wallpaper switcher utillity is unable to import
background images from either .jpg or .png images files. It fails with a
pop-up that says it couldn't convert the image. Yet if I boot one of my other
Linux distros I can import the same .jpg and/or .png files. And if I copy the
resulting .edj files to ~/.e/e/backgrounds on my opensuse partition, I can
select and use them as background images...

    Has anybody else seen this?

Where is the right place to report the problem so that the repo management
team becomes aware of the problem?

I assume that if you install the nightly build you are willing to participate in the testing, and to
report failures to the devs and packagers..., and that you know already how to do that >:-)

Try this workaround from bodhlinux-forum, it works!

In so far as I am able to: Especially since I found no other viable E17 repo
for opensuse 12.2... That's not to say that I'll "zypper up" every night
though. I mean some nights I'd be running Sabayon, or antiX...

    > and to report failures to the devs and packagers...,

To the extent that I become aware of them, I,ll gladly ratchet my jaw a bit.

    > and that you know already how to do that >:-)

    Not so much...

Because it seems, that I need to get proactive with most distro to run E17 on
them, I did some google searching for e17 on opensuse 12.2, before I even
burned the installation disk. The only promising result I found was
instructions on adding the "nightly build"

What I didn't find was any info on contacting any actual devs or packagers...

Thanks for the link Martin, But in fact that "workaround" describes my exact
method. With only one exception. Normally I navigate to the directory with the
source images via a symlink in my $HOME dir that points to the image dir on my
personal data partition. So far works with my Other E17. But the suggestion by
" Charles@Bodhi " to double click on directory doesn't seem to work for
symlinks. So I copied a jpeg of a dear departed dog to a hard dirpath
    $HOME/tmp/chilliesits.jpg and tried from there.

The $HOME/tmp dir opened on double-click ok, but when I tried to import the
image it failed at the same point as if I'd selected it from the preview pane.

That is I would select from the (stretch, fill, tile, etc) checkbox list and
click on the button to continue, which is when I get a pop-up advising that
"Enlightenment was unable to import this picture due to conversion errors"

Check the OBS project site. You must be logged in to get information on the developers. Use your Novell credentials.

It seems that e17 for opensuse has some broken packages.
a week ago, it went well, now , it is a mess

There is a new build available, gonna check it

Anyway, the OS for e17 should be bodhilinux, but at least I try to get it work in opensuse

My sense of timing has always been a matter of luck...

And you know, "If it weren't for bad luck..."

From what I saw on my re-purposed win95 era Toshiba satelite {my worst case
scenario back-up email box} on which I installed bodhi, they did a good job
    with it.

I tried to install it to my desktop PC, but the installer didn't like that
machine. Never found out why. Which is one of the reasons why I can't agree
about it being "the OS for e17" At least until there is only one OS apiece
    for kde, gnome, etc

    > but at least I try to get it work in opensuse

    Thank you much!

    Try it, it works!
You have to play around a bit, with some fantasy you get it!
You have to open the "picture"stuff in the middle screen and then following the folders, .opening your picture-stuff, a lot of double-clicksf
It is a bit mysterious, once you get it, you do not get it a second time immediately, third time it keeps in your head, forth time you remember
    Keep on
