I have the same problem with my laptop,it overheats and then shuts down. Imho Leap has nothing to do with that but mostly your usage. Place you laptop only on solid surfaces such as desks etc and not on your bed or overlapping materials. To keep track of your temperature:
zypper in sensors
Your output would be something like that:

Adapter: ISA adapter
Physical id 0:  +46.0°C  (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
