Question Sleep / S2RAM no longer works, 11.4

Hello, S2RAM was working. Now, it only goes through a few motions like it wants to sleep, but comes back to password login. I was using it quite frequently because I also nod off to sleep at the PC at times. Now 11.4 doesn't want to sleep. I do regular updates, but I don't know if an update did this. I went through the debugging kernel, but I don't know what to look for. Please tell me where to dig, so I can find out what's ailing 11.4. Thanks in advance.

    Check the log at "/var/log/pm-suspend.log".

    That is the important part.

    > Please let me know what problem this indicates. Thanks in advance.

I understand that it is restoring inmediately because it thinks it has to, I don not know why.
I would have to compare with the log of another machine that works. Not mine: they crash on
suspend to ram, both of them (desktop and laptop).

Only it appears that there is an i/o error in s2ram, which is the program that does the actual
suspending, and it simply aborts. Check to see if there was an update to that program and
    revert it. Or the kernel.

It should be an 11.4 to compare better, but anyway...

It is the same thing, but s2ram worked here. You might try running s2ram directly, from a root
terminal, and find out if it prints an error.

Otherwise, edit /etc/suspend.conf, make sure you have these values set:

    Code:
    splash = n
    suspend loglevel = 7

    Hello Carlos,

    In my 11.4 suspend.conf I have:

    Code:
    ## use splash picture? (default y)
    #splash = y

    #suspend loglevel = 2
I will let you know the results of the edit. Thanks for your help!

Calling s2ram directly may have other undesired results. I intended it as a diagnostic.

After the latest update to 11.4 (which included DHCP and ghostscripts) s2ram stopped working again. Then I put back the original settings. S2RAM is working again!
