Smile VirtualBox 4.2.10 fixes a number of crashing bugs

Oracle has released a maintenance update to its open source VirtualBox virtualisation package that fixes several crashing problems, compilation problems with the rc0 release of the 3.9 version of the Linux kernel, and incompatibilities of virtual hard disk "differencing" images with Microsoft's Hyper-V hypervisor. VirtualBox 4.2.10, which was released less than a month after the last maintenance release (4.2.8), also fixes a bug on Mac OS X where the virtualised host was not able to detect the correct keyboard type over an SSH-forwarded X11 connection.

Among the crashing issues fixed in the new version is a crash with multi-monitor setups on Mac OS X, crashes when the host computer was waking up from hibernation, and problems with VBoxService crashing on Linux hosts when libdbus was not available. Multimedia redirection on Windows hosts can now also be upgraded correctly again. More details of all bug fixes in this release are available in the VirtualBox change log.

VirtualBox 4.2.10 is available for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris from the project's site; builds for specific Linux distributions are also available and include Ubuntu (12.10, 12.04LTS, 11.10, 11.04, 10.4 and 8.04), Debian 7 and 6, openSUSE 11.4, 12.1 and 12.2, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 and 10, Fedora 18, 17 and 16, Mandriva 2011.0, 2010.0 and 2010.1, and Oracle Linux/Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, 5 and 4. Downloads for older builds are also provided. VirtualBox binaries from version 4.0 onwards are licensed under the GPL; source code is available from the downloads page.

There is a Article on installing VirtualBox https://forums.opensuse.org/content/...umbleweed.html, basically, use the most recent version links here and download the VirtuaBox Application (32 or 64 bit) and the common Extensions pack. Then read through the article. You can use a terminal command like "VirtualBox startvm VmName" to start a VM session. You could create a BASH script with this command and set it to auto load if you wanted to do so. First, get VirtualBox installed and setup, next create a VM that works as you wish, next formulate a terminal command that works, next decide how you want to auto load this command of which there is more than one way to do.

    Thank You,

What is the purpose of the zip file link you have posted? I can't recommend anyone download a file if you do not know what it is for!
