    Default Unbootable SUSEStudio ImageWriter

I'm presently using openSuSE 12.1 Gnome which indicates that SUSE Studio ImageWriter is installed. All attempts to open it fail. Un and reinstalled it and it's still the same.
I wish to create a bootable flash for installation as I have successfully done in the past.
Thanks in advance for any help here.

i really don't know much about openSUSE Studio nor imagewriter, but it
appears to me that you are either logged into the GUI as root (please
don't do that) *or* you are running imageWriter as root (is that the way
it is supposed to be run?

hopefully someone with more Studio/ImageWriter knowledge will show up
soon, if not i think there is a Studio forum.....AH! yes there is
<http://tinyurl.com/6bzscrr> so you could PM a moderator and ask that
this thread be moved to the correct forum, where maybe a oSStudio guru
can help you sort out the sour.

I wouldn't worry about the warnings. It's just telling you that imagewriter couldn't be added to the recently used applications, it isn't a problem with imagewriter itself.

Yes, imagewriter requires su to run. Not sure the reason, but needs to unmount the device and dd it.

How about using dd in terminal?.

Last week and so i tried all these apps and commands, and at the end i choose to use dd, because it worked every time i used it under openSUSE or Elementary/Ubuntu for any distro image. It was just matter of few minutes to create the working live bootable image in usb. I wrote a simple how to, hope it can help you.

    Good luck!
