    I have bought an used laptop to test some install method .
    For the moment I am testing install using PXE.

    a) From the laptop side ( the new old one ) Booting with a live DVD
    I can discover who is on my local network using nmap -sP 192.168.130.0/24
    I can ping each one
    I can see the server repository by setting http://<server_adress>/alias_repository> in firefox;

    b) Using PXE, the laptop can connect to the server,
    I can see the assign address on the screen during PXE negotiation;
    I can begin the install process from the laptop.

        options    +Indexes
        order    allow,deny
        Allow from all
    </Directory>
    Have Copied menu.c32 to /srv/tftpboot

    First try :

    Have copied the Linux kernel and initrd from the 12.1 DVD to /srv/tftpboot

    The process stop with

    "waiting for device /dev/disk/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxpart2 to appear: ................ Could not find /dev/disk/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxpart2.
    Second try :

    Have replace Linux kernel and initrd from DVD by Linux kernel and initrd from http:/:download.opensuse.com/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

    The process give some ERROR 22 / URL ERROR 404

    loading http://192.168.130.100/opensuseDVD_12-1/info.info
    loading http://192.168.130.100/opensuseDVD_12-1/part.info
    loading http://192.168.130.100/opensuseDVD_12-1/driverupdate

    sh: /lib64/libc.so.6 version 'GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by sh)

    After filling answers to several questions (with pseudo windows in text mode. At the top of the screen one can read linuxrc v4.0.6v(kernel 3.4.47.3-default)), the system halt with :

    http://192.168.130.100/opensuseDVD_12-1/content : Invalid signature - Installation aborted.

    Should be normal because initrd and kernel come from internet not from the DVD.

    Any suggestion ?.

    The idea is to use the DVD and not internet.
    Thanks for helping. JCD
