    Unhappy Asterisk in OpenSuse 12.1

    Hi,

    Further to my conversation in pre-release thread, now i have installed OpenSuse 12.1 32bit, and installed Asterisk 1.8.15. The installation were sucessfull.

    When I start Asterisk (asterisk -vvvvc) the service is hanging when it reads the modules. It hangs like below,
    Asterisk Dynamic Loader Starting:
    == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/modules.conf': == Found
    [Aug 23 14:56:14] NOTICE[19340]: loader.c:1133 load_modules: 186 modules will be loaded.

    My linux machine uname -a output is below,

    Linux linux-w6le.site 3.1.0-1.2-default #1 SMP Thu Nov 3 14:45:45 UTC 2011 (187dde0) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

    Any suggestion would be much appreciated.

    Regards,
    Gopal.

    While this is more or less interpretable, please, next time use CODE tags (and not bold) around computer text: http://forums.opensuse.org/english/i...ags-guide.html

    And include the prompt and the command and of course the output and the new prompt. Then you do not have to tell what command you used because it is there.

    Are you sure it hanged? It is a daemon, it will do nothing in the terminal you use to start it.

    When I tried asterisk, I used this guide:

    Asterisk™: The Definitive Guide

    with the only difference that I did not build the source. You can find my threads in the
    network subforum, about February.

    Hi carlos,

    I tried as mentioned in the Asterisk definitive guide but no use. Again it hangs while loading the modules.

    I am still clueless, some thing basic which not able to make it up, in other OS it works fine. Can you direct me to the network subforum, so that i will have a look.

    Hi Henk,
    I will use as per your advice.

    Regards,
    gopal.

    Also after some time it results to segmentation fault.

    Code:
    Asterisk Dynamic Loader Starting:
      == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/modules.conf':   == Found
    [Aug 27 12:09:07] NOTICE[23180]: loader.c:1133 load_modules: 149 modules will be loaded.
    Segmentation fault
    laptop-sai:/usr/src/asterisk-1.8.15.0 #

    Talking Re: Asterisk in OpenSuse 12.1

    Finally I succeeded with asterisk installation. I did online update and then Asterisk got installed properly. After a long time...its success.
