Thread: HPLIP CUPS is driving me crazy print logo and nothing else.

  1. #1

Default HPLIP CUPS is driving me crazy print logo and nothing else.

I have an online store and frequently, when I print an invoice just my logo prints and nothing else. I have printed the document to file and tried to print the resultant PDF file and the same thing happens.

I have tried two HP printers with the same results. One is an HP Officejet 4500 Desktop and the other is an HP Deskjet F4280.

When I run hp-check I get all sorts of errors.

I assume that the errors explain what the problem is, but I am lost as to how to install the whole kit and kaboodle. Is there a package somewhere that I need to install?

BTW, sometimes, but rarely, it prints everything OK. And I know someone is going to ask, so here is the answer - Yes the PDF files look fine. The entire document is there.

Are you using 12.1 with the hpcups and ghostscript from the update repo?

If so, then these are fairly buggy.
I'd recommend adding the printing repo and updating hpcups and ghostscript from there.

    Thanks you so much.

Sorry I should have mentioned my version and what I was using. You were right, and your solution has worked wonderfully.
