SuSE/SLES newbie: Where are development-related packages?

Hi there,

I am quite new to SuSE/SLES (until now I mainly used Debian-based Linuxes) and have a SLES 11.2 virtual machine in front of me. I am trying to find my way around to setup this VM for web development but having difficulties finding any development-related packages with ‘zypper’ (for example ‘git’, ‘svn’ or what is know on Debian systems as ‘*-dev’ libraries in general).

According to ‘zypper lr’, my VM is setup with these repositories:

  • SLES11 SP2 Core
  • SLES11 SP2 Updates
  • SLES11 SP2 Extension Store

I already added these two additional repositories but with no further success:

  • SLE11 SDK SP2 Core
  • SLE11 SDK SP2 Updates

Can someone point me around for dev-related package on SuSE?

Thanks

Klaus
