    Do you see the networking icon? It's in the tray.
    Does it show access points?

    Make sure you are set to use Networkmanager here

    Can we assume some success?

    Have you connected to this router before?
    Are you the administrator of it?
    Do you know the SSID and encryption type and password? And if MAC filtering is enabled?

    My wireless light in opensuse now is on ( already was off) ,
    Yes , in windows 7 im using that, thats router is personal for me.
