Yeah, most people do think of that use of lists because it's the most
common - but this seems to be a very effective way to generally handle
the screening/triage part of bug processing.

No problem, Alan - I've also worked around IT and systems for a very long
time, and know that one of the best ways to keep things moving is to have
people working on the things they like working on - and many (certainly
not all) developers prefer working on code to anything else.

So if we can facilitate that, hopefully we can get things working more
    smoothly.

I've also sat (in the past) on various change control board meetings
(which are often bug review and prioritization meetings), so I'm hoping
my experience there can help craft a process that can clear out the
    backlog from older versions.

But it will take a community effort - as one person working by themselves
won't be able to get things cleared out. When we get to the point in the
process where we know what will help, we'll probably be looking to the
community to provide some much-needed assistance in handling the
screening process (in particular). (Though it will depend on where the
    additional assistance is needed).

There's also been some talk about looking at a pre-12.2 "bug hunting"
    event of some sort.

Here's another example for your project: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=728774
A sollution was provided in Februari, but no real action seems to have been happening on the bug since then...

    I still have to mention:

maybe it's not software...(two persons met the same situation, I don't know his...but yours may be)

your hardware is overheat and about to burn........I saw these dots and strips before my last graphics card burned last year......

    You're kiding right!?

The problem started exactly when I installed 12.1, and has been real consistent since then. And only appears in certain software...

of course most likely it's intel's software ****......but we can't ignore the hardware part.....
    Yeah...

If it's that clear the suse xorg developers could have said so right away!?

this is kind of matching game. match the right people with right hardware,

    Hope it helps.

Do you know if this particular bug is still present in 12.2?
