firefox as it seems a bit more robust when it comes to the OS forums
    I'd agree with that.

In Chrome I'm having to resubmit data to get a reaction

    Hmmm.

We did make a change to not redirect when posting/quoting because those
options are supposed to not be visible when not logged in. But I see
what you're seeing and the reply with quote button shouldn't be
    highlighted.

You can work around the issue by clicking "register/login" at the top of
the page when you first visit the forums.

I'll pass this issue along to our technical admin and see what we need to
do to hide those reply options.

Or ideally, replace the button with text that says "Login before
replying" (or a greyed-out button with that as its label)?

That was essentially the behaviour before - if you weren't logged in,
you'd be prompted to log in.

But there are two cookies - an access manager cookie and a vBulletin
cookie - that have to be managed, and putting that redirect in caused
other problems, which was why we took it out.

Logging in before doing anything is the preferred way to handle it. The
other reply button and the post button aren't displayed if you're not
logged in, so the "reply with quote" button should be treated similarly.
