Query regarding KDE

I installed openSUSE 12.1 with GNOME 3 and later installed KDE.

QUERY 1:
These are the entries in the Session option during logon.
Default
Custom
GNOME
IceWM
KDE Plasma Workspace (previous)
KDE Plasma Workspace
KDE Plasma Workspace (failsafe session)
Metacity
TWM
Failsafe

In this above list, why is KDE Plasma ambiguous? and what does others mean? (I mean I installed GNOME and KDE only. Others sprouted themselves!)

**QUERY 2:

**Choosing Set as desktop wallpaper does not change the KDE desktop wallpaper. I have to go to desktop settings to change the wallpaper. But when I choose “Set as desktop” in KDE, GNOME wallpaper is changed. How this works?

I don’t know why the ambiguity, but it has been there for a while. Either works. I’ve heard that it is due to a symlink somewhere.

The KDE failsafe gets you into KDE with desktop effects disabled.

I don’t know about the wallpaper - sorry.

IceWM and TWM get installed as soon as you install with runlevel 5 as a default runlevel, along with X.

So, for changing the desktop wallpaper in KDE, everytime I have to go to desktop settings and then choose a wallpaper or browse for it if it is not already used before? Isnt there a easy alternative?

Thanks
