Thread: Remember Password - doesn't. Bug or option?

Default Remember Password - doesn't. Bug or option?

I have typed in the password dozens of times now and the "remember password" box has been checked. Why doesn't it remember the password? ... is this a bug, or do I need to set some option somewhere?

I'm talking about the password, like for doing updates, or going into Software Management.

I have a brand new install of OpenSUSE 12.1 32-bit.

    Thank you.

The last time I saw that working, was in opensuse 11.3 (if my memory is correct).

With 12.1, the option to remember password is not even there. They removed it a while ago. But perhaps that's only for KDE, and maybe it still asks for that in gnome and other desktops.

My understanding is that this is a problem in Policy Kit, which handles the authentication for updates.

Okay, I'll just ignore it from now on. Thanks Mate!

No, I have not seen it in gnome either - unless perhaps with apper, which I
    do not use.
