Default how to open a file that is formated in gpi [derived from OpenStreetMap-developement]

    good day dear linux-friends

i have several Files that are in the gpi-formate - derived from here: Garmin | Österreich | Extras | POIs

well i want to open them since i need the data -

    note i run OpenSuse 12.1

Garmin is a company founded in 1989 which is known for its hardware and software used for GPS navigation, the hardware ranges from standalone navigation devices to smartphones with navigation included. Most navigation devices or software's allow Points of Interest (POI) to be chosen along the route. The files used to store the POI files use the file extension .gpi.
    any help i sgreatly appreciated

    Hi
Install gpsbabel to convert. They are just xml files, I just manually
created mine to add additional info for my Garmin Nuvi.
