    Default Striata Reader (Linux - libc6 .tar.gz)

My Bank has instituted online statements for my credit card. They list the options available for various systems stating that libc must be installed. The one using a tar file seems to be the only one applicable but I cannot find anything like the required application in the system listing. Any ideas?

    12.1 installed.

libc is always installed. Don't ever try to replace it, or you will break
    your system.

I have found glibc containing lib64/libc.so.6. Would this be it?

Do not ever attempt to update glibc. Leave it alone.
