I have that same problem on 11.4 since yesterday, when I did an update
(patch). I did no KDE update. It gets stuck with the network script. I
temporarily moved the script to another directory, and pm-hibernate
    succeeds.

When I get back home I'll have a better look.

ah, thanks; i'll do that myself. i tried with sysvinit instead of systemd,
but while this doesn't garble the log entry, it also ends after calling
    the network script.

Ok, I did that and saw that it is beyond me. I reported the issue as “Bug
751887 - Hibernation failure after security patches applied.”

For those having the problem of failure to hibernate, /and/ you are not
using automatic IP (traditional method), remove temporarily the script
"/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/50rcnetwork". Make a backup first if you want.

The problem is not that script, but one called by it, I haven't tracked
    which one.

For those using dhcp, I dunno. You might remove the script, and do
"rcnetwork restart" when you come back.

They ask if you are using systemd or systemv. Please post on the bug.

after an update to pm-utils (from the 12.1 update repo) today, pm-suspend

Showing that you had a different problem, unrelated to the one reported on
    this forum thread.

don't think so; there's differnt people on this thread, apparently with
different problems, and mine was one of them that got solved now. others
seem to have (had) the same problem, and i'd be surprised if those
(cmgrath5035) haven't be solved in the same way.

Only one: The OP, cmcgrath5035. :-)

Then you said you had a similar problem, but isn’t. The OP problem is
related to NFS, which is a known problem with hibernating.
