Thread: Can't delete anything

    Default Can't delete anything

I'm running 11.4 and have been for some time. I really can't say when it started but for some reason, I can no longer delete files without using a file manager. If I attempt to delete from the desktop or through any other program, I receive a dialog box saying my trash is full and to empty it, even though it IS empty.

    Any ideas?

    But if it is kde
I'd try clearing all the dolphin setting files first.

    This folder /.kde4/share/apps/dolphin/

    and the file: .kde4/share/config/dolphinrc

Not sure you actually have to clear out anything. Maybe you could first try different settings in Dolphin itself:
Settings > Configure Dolphin > Trash.*
I think you could try to turn off the limit, or at least raise it.

    ETA:
    * If that does not exist, that is because I am using a newer version of Dolphin. In any case, I mean the settings for the trash -- whereever they are.

Yup. KDE I'll give that a try if I can find it.

Got it! You were correct. The Dolphin setting "Limited" setting was checked. In unchecked it and it works.

    Many thanks!

    You can also empty ~/.local/share/Trash/files

I got tired of emptying the trash and automated it.
I made notes about it here:
