    Default Synergy package

Has anyone managed to install synergy on 11.4?

It doesn't seem to be available from any repository so I downloaded an rpm from the website but installing from Yast doesn't install dependancies.

I have it installed on other machines using Mandriva and would like to use it on my new computer.

did you ever happen to have any luck with this?

i'm looking for someone that might be able to share their experiences with synergy. i can't even seem to get it running on a mint/ubuntu setup and every time i run /usr/bin/synergy start
    i get an error.

There are a couple of builds in OBS for it - I have used Synergy on
versions up to and including 12.1 for years now.

When you go to http://software.opensuse.org/search go to 'advanced
options' and include users' home projects. You'll find versions there
    for download.

Alternatively, you can go to the synergy website and download the daily
RPM builds - those work on 11.4 and 12.1 as well.

I think you need to run it as a client or as a server using synergyc or synergys. For ease of use it is probably worth installing a gui frontend such as qsynergy - this will let you select which way you run it. You will also need a conf file which defines the screens you are using. Google for info on setting up.

I am still experimenting with this. Not on my main computer at the moment so can't offer more info.

    cheers,

Ok so I followed the above advice only at first I started using quicksynergy which is also in user repos, and I finally got it working, BUT: I had to disable the firewall, as SUSE wasn't allowing connections. I'm sure theres a way to add a rule or something, but I have no idea how and thought I'd let you all know I did get it working, and it works great.

    Thanks for the help!
