how do you verify this is a vmware server or vm client on a SuSE Linux 11.3

we have an exchange server that is running out of space, its actually a vmware client, I believe the vmware server where the exchange is running is a suse linux 11.3 machine, how do I verify that is the case meaning how do I know if the suse linux 11.3 is a running vmware server or if its another vm client? I read somewhere you can interface with a linux box using vnc? I tried it it did not work, I can ping the suse linux box, I can ssh to it. I should be able to vnc to it right? please help, ask me as much questions regarding specs, keep in mind I know a few commands, is there a real good guide that will show me linux commands? it seems this ver of suse linux is very old I think they have up to date commands?

If you have a space issuse
You might want to check if you have set the /tmp files to be cleared when you reboot it.
Do you know how?

that just tells me opensue 11.3 and ver number, does not tell me if its vmserver or client, if its vmware server what other vmwares are on there if any etc?

But you don't know what type of Virtual Machine?

What is the Host OS?

myself and another tech just replaced two other techs who did not document anything, so we are in discovery mode.
we have a vm client that is running exchange server that is almost out of harddrive space, I think this opensuse is the vmware server, how do I verify that? and how to I find out if it has enough resources to allocate more resources to that vm client running exchange?

Maybe I'm dumb or just don't really understand the question. In either case I'm sorry.

But. When you say Exchange Server, are you referring to MS Exchange?
