Default How to disable password prompts?

    Hi guys,

Upon carrying out administrative tasks like package installation I'm facing with password prompt windows. (I'm logged in as the non-root user that I created during the installation process.)

How can I get rid of such password prompts? (I still want to have the password window in the login manager but nothing other than that.)

    Thanks in advance,
    Laci

That is exactly the way Unix/Linux is designed. People (Unix/Linux is a multi user system, thus there can be many users loged in at the same time) are nor allowed to do any system things. Only the superuser (his username is root) can do this. And yes, of course for such a user a strong password is needed should be used. It one of the strong security features of Unix/Linux. It should in fact have been one of the main reasons why you decided to go for Linux.

    In short: Carlos is correct.
