    Looks like that package might have some issues:

    Old Nabble - opensuse-factory - Problem deleting a package.

    You can get verbose messages for what preun is doing as per the above with:

    Code:
    rpm -evv nxtvepg-2.8.0-14.61 2>&1 | tee log
    And if you're desperate, use rpm -e --noscripts nxtvepg-2.8.0-14.61
    Sometimes you do get a package that does weird things when installing / uninstalling - it's pretty rare from my experience. You can force it in several ways, such as the --noscripts option, but that is only something you do if there is no other way.

    You can also file this as a bug: Packager : openSUSE:Submitting bug reports - openSUSE

    I can confirm this did the same for me on 11.4 64-bit, nxtvepg-2.8.1-8.2.x86_64

    Code:
    rpm -evv --noscripts nxtvepg
    ...
    ++ DISABLE_STOP_ON_REMOVAL=no
    + test '' '!=' instsys -a no '!=' yes
    + for service in nxtvepg
    + /etc/init.d/nxtvepg stop
    D:     erase: waitpid(16728) rc 16728 status 600 secs 0.005
    error: %preun(nxtvepg-2.8.1-8.2.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 6
    It removed okay with --noscripts

    Cheers,
    Pete

    Just type
    Code:
    rpm -e --noscripts nxtvepg
    That should do it.
