    Angry how undate ClamAV?

i recently installed clamAV in openSUSE 12.1 and also installed clamTK.
using clamTK whenever i go to help>update, it showes me that antivirus is not update but when i click update to update the program, it shows another message that says: "current" (i do not know what does it mean)
what is the problem with it?
how can i update the antivirus correctly?

I don't know about the GUI frontend. But for clamAV
    Code:
    sudo freshclam
    Main box: OpenSuse 12.3)/KDE 4.10 64bit
Older Box: OpenSuse 12.2/KDE 4.8.5 64bit (my mediabox)
    Laptop: Debian Wheezy/KDE 4.8.4 64bit

    Hello ilAli,

While there is clamav and other anti-virus software available, you should realise that not many people here use any one of them.

The only reason we see any use for it, is when you are running a mail server where mails to Windows people pass through. You may then want to protect those Windows people (not your Linux box) from Windows virusses in those mails. Because that is what clamav and friends do: battle Wndows virusses. Because there is no (known) Linux virus out there. And no virus program can protect you from virusses it does not know about. Thus clamav and friends are useless in protecting you from Linux virusses.

Because I assume that you do not run a mail service for others on your notebook, you may do as we: not using, not even installing clamav and otthers.

The freshclam service daemon keeps it updated.

    agree with others here.
In all the years I have been using Opensuse I have never installed any antivirus software as it isn't really needed.

I dual boot with windows 7 and have the free Avast antivirus installed there.
That works very well for windows.
