Default no kickoff back arrow in Opensuse 12.1 KDE

The Kickoff menu (application launcher) for KDE4 in earlier versions of Opensuse had a back arrow that appeared when you moved your cursor to the left of the kickoff menu.
No such arrow appears for me in Opensuse 12.1 64bit.
Have KDE removed this useful feature?
For me - if I dig too deep into the menu, the only way to go back is to click on the top right hand corner of the menu where it indicates where you are within kickoff.

Any way to get the arrow back?

iirc it was removed in 4.7 and do not believe there exits any option to bring it back

I noticed also that it was no longer there then I updated to 4.7, but
found it not worth to file a feature request since the "path" on top of
the menu seems to be good enough for navigating (at least for me).

You can also use the cursor left and cursor right keys for the same
    functionality.

There is also a forum thread about this in the KDE message board: Where'd the 'back bar' go in Kickoff? • KDE Community Forums

I don't understand why this button was removed. It's faster and quicker than aiming your mouse cursor at the tiny text near the top of the menu. They should at least have an option to toggle it on or off.

    thanks for the replies.

It's a little disappointing that it was removed on the quiet with no option to restore it.
I'd really like to see it return as an option but don't hold too much hope.

But the top right breadcrumb trail let you go back many levels at once. The arrow was more user-friendly, but the breadcrumb is more efficient IMO.

You're probably right. It just takes a little getting used to I guess.
At the moment it just seems a little unusual to move the cursor to the right in order to move the menu to the left.

Yes, habit counts. Just gave the wife a new refrigerator, the lower door open different from the older one (inverted handle). Took me a week to get used to it.
