    Click on your name near the top right of the screen.

    Click on "System Settings"

    Click on "System info"

    Select forced fallback mode.

    The next time you login, it will be to fallback mode. It isn't quite the same as gnome 2, but it is a lot closer to gnome 2 than you are currently seeing.
