Thread: nautilus icon theme reverts to original

Default nautilus icon theme reverts to original

    Hi,

I'm using openSUSE 12.1 with Gnome 3.2. While I'm using the system, sometimes nautilus' icon theme just reverts to the default one.

Closing/restarting nautilus does not fix the problem, but if I do nautilus -q and restart it, it correctly applies the icon theme.

    Is this a known problem?

    Hi
Did you use the Gnome Tweak Tool to add the icon theme? Also where did the icon theme come from and name?

Actually I don't think so. I think I have downloaded icon themes from deviantART: where ART meets application! and copied them to ~/.icons. Then they are shown in gnome-tweak-tool, and I used gnome-tweak-tool to choose the icon theme I want. Currently I'm using faenza + faenKfolder.

    Hi
Can you provide the exact link to them so I can download and test

I'm wondering if the icon cache needs to be updated.
    Code:
    gtk-update-icon-cache ~/.icons/<icon_dir_name>

    Of course, here we go:

    FaenK folders: Browsing deviantART
Faenza Icons: FaenK folders by ~acidrums4 on deviantART

Again it does not always happen, it happens after some use .. I think it usually happens when I close some other applications.

I will try to update the cache as well. Thank you!

I found that it happens when a QT application such as Lyx, okular, .. closes. I think I have seen this for a long time - when I close a qt app gnome theme reverts back to the original.

Now the difference is that my gnome shell revert to original but revert to the right thing right away. Nautilus reverts back to original and then does not come back.
