Unhappy Apper crashes in an attempt to install 3rd party tools

When i try to install plug-ins like java or flash player.

First, when i open the rpm, the app that opened it says "could not launch usr/bin/apper".
Second, when i click next when it shows the packages to install, it just closes and the crash reporter pops up.

P.S., i have the latest opensuse 12.1 and i will post the trace-back.

    Is apper installed?
If not, install it and try again.

It is part of the package named apper which I think should be installed
by default, at least it is on my 12.1 machine without me adding it.
Can you open a terminal and run the command
    Code:
    sudo zypper in apper
this should install it, you need a working internet connection that it
    works.
