    Default Java 7 JDK in 12.1

    Tried to install it via default rpm on this link but suse still uses v1.6. How to fix it?

    It still use the v6 because the alternatives (in /etc/alternatives) are not updated.
    I wrote a bash post-install script to fix this.
    It works for 64bit systems but can be modified.

    Why not? You can point eclipse to any JDK in the project settings (or if
    you prefer in the default settings for projects). What is the error message?

    If you want the stable and secure 6u29, you can install it easily like this:

    That is no answer to the OPs question who obviously wants to develop
    with Java 7 and not with Java 6.
