Sorry about asking a dumb question but i can't figure out how to
remove a folder from the kickoff app launcher.

    In the Computer list

    Home
    Network
    Root
    Trash

I have some how added another folder to the list and i would
like to know how to delete it

    Thank you

Right click the Launcher > Edit applications

Click Edit button > Restore to System Menu
    Then click SAVE

The places can be configured using Dolphin as can be found in the documentation:
    Plasma/Kickoff - KDE UserBase Wiki

When starting Dolphin you'll see a panel with the name Places on the left of the window.
Right clicking on them to add/change/delete an entry.
Note that in order to make the place visible in the Kickoff Launcher you'll need to make sure that the option
"Only show when using this application (Dolphin)" is unchecked.

@caf4926 AFAIK that only works for applications.

    Good luck!
Where did I put my coffee cup?
    dir -R /home/* | grep "coffee cup"
