Default making problems to write bangla in ibus

    Hi,
This is sadi.I'm a new user in OpenSuSE.I was a debian user before using opensuse.I use there ibus as ma keyboard input mathod. After converting to Opensuse 11.04 I face problems to use ibus specially in bangla keyboard input mathod.when I press g(্)key it turn off the bangla mode and print g. It gives me much pain which I never faced before on debian or either ubuntu.
If Novell engineers kindly fix it up it will be much helpful for us.For all Bangali people (In India or In Bangladesh) it will help all.
    Thanks.

"Novell engineers" do not read the forum. Here we are users helping other
users. If what you are doing is reporting a bug, you have to do so in bugzilla.

    http://en.opensuse.org/Bugzilla

It would also make sense for you to test the factory version and see if the
bug is also there and report otherwise (in bugzilla), as you have barely
time that the devs see it in time to correct it before release in about a
    month.

-=WELCOME=- new poster Sadi of Bangladesh!!

you do not say what desktop environment you use (please always do that)..

so, i assume you are using what i use (KDE4) and ask you to go
    Personal Settings - Configure Desktop
    > Hardware Input Devices
    > Keyboard
    > Layouts (tab)
    > go to and check mark the box "Configure layouts"
    > then click the "Add layout" button
    > spin the "Layout" selector to "Bangladesh"
    > click the "OK" button
    > click the "Apply" button..

that should (i think) then recognize your keyboard and allow you to use
    it correctly, without pain..

i used gnome for a while about five or six years ago, so i don't
remember much about it and it has changed a lot since then: so, i can't
    answer those questions

no, i'm not trying to tell you what to use....but, i will tell you is
i've been using Linux over 10 years, and openSUSE for at least five and
i never heard of ibus until i saw your subject line..

so, if you only want help with ibus in Gnome2 then you have to wait for
someone who knows about it to come along..

I want to use ibus in my opensuse as like as debian

well, why not use YaST > Software Management to install ibus (i see it
is in the repos and ready to install [but not installed by default]...i
would then guess that once set up it would work on this Linux just like
it did on your Debian Linux.....but, i *am* guessing..

Have you checked your ibus preferences that if "g" is assigned to something ?
There's no version of opensuse titled "11.04", maybe you are pointing to 11.4 right ?

What version of the following packages you are using ?
    1. m17n-lib
    2. m17n-contrib
    3. m17n-db
    4. ibus-m17n
    5. ibus

    @DenverD
Actually, ibus provides additional layouts that kbd doesn't provide, he(sadi) want to use "unijoy" which is not available in kbd(only bangladesh(national) and bangladesh - probhat)
