Chrome and Youtube?

So in my Chrome Browser when I watch youtube videos they work unless I go to full screen view then it starts to lag really bad, any idea’s? Doesn’t Chrome keep Flash up to date?

Chrome uses the same flash as you have installed in your system.

Are you saying other browsers do not have this problem?

You might want to confirm to us your graphics device and driver…

Had the same issue with FF and I went to Adobe.com to update my flash and this is what Adobe said to me

“Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available”.

How do I confirm the driver for my computer, I have the Intel HD GPU.

I can tell you some folks find HD video problematic with Intel chips
Personally I don’t.

Is it Hight Def video full screen or just standard flash full screen that is the problem

If you open a terminal and type:

/sbin/lspci -nnk

copy and paste the result here in code tags
This will list for us your hardware/type and drivers

Which version?
I am using google-chrome-beta-15.0.874.21-101896 from http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/i386
The Chrome integrated flash player is the only Adobe software on any of our machines. Apart from the security issues, Adobe software is just too much trouble to manage.krnel

Intel drivers are part of the kernel installation. Which kernel version? It might be worth checking the kernel release notes.

It does not matter what the video quality is for it to lag. and it is the latest version of Chrome.
and this is what terminal gave me,

linux-ap81:/home/devon # /sbin/lspci -nnk

You either forgot the CODE tags or you forgot to ask what he means with CODE tags. Here it is: Posting in Code Tags - A Guide

So it’s a Sony is it?

I note some comments (I know this is for a different breed of machine, but it’s relevant)
Intel HD Graphics - ThinkWiki

A very recent Linux distribution with kernel 2.6.33 and Intel Xorg driver 2.11 or newer is recommended.
Note that XVideo (Xv) playback at certain frame sizes does not work properly unless you have at least version 2.12 of the Intel Xorg driver.
Desktop Effects do not work in Ubuntu 10.10 (at least, on an X220).

So you could try a newer kernel and or xorg too

What about this? It is saying that openSuse 11.4 would contain these drivers.

intel linux driver (core i3) - Page 2

Correct
I guess you read here: openSUSE Graphic Card Practical Theory Guide for Users

The writer of that guide can probably provide better help than I can. But one suggestion that also comes to mind is to try using ‘intellegacy’ driver.
Also, if you are _64, you could also try switching flash to the _64 version
Fix your flash in 11.4 _64 with flash square

It may also require that you do lots of digging on this subject and perhaps even lower your expectations.

What is the ‘intellegacy’ driver? and I am running a 32 bit OS.

But from post #3

This suggests thAdobe Flash at this is 32bit google-chrome from:
http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/rpm/stable/i386
which includes an integrated Adobe Flash Player, which generally has security patches ahead of the Adobe release. This is the versi.on that I use.

In my experience, mixing 32bit google-chrome with , Adobe Flash Player (including Air) causes conflicts resulting in poor performance and playback failures and drop-outs.

One of our machines (an old HP desktop) has Intel Q33 graphics on the motherboard, and is regularly used for BBC iPlayer. This machine has:
openSuSE-11.4, KDE-4.6.5, kernel-desktop-3.0.4-2.1
drm-intel-kmp-desktop-20110829.0416_k3.0.4_2-2.2 from http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/home:jobermayropenSUSE_11.4
xorg-x11-driver-video-7.6.99.git20110909.2215-1.2 ditto
google-chrome-beta-15.0.874.51-102895

As I said
My _64 install with _64 flash
Chrome shows as using Flash 11
There is no integrated Adobe Flash Player in Chrome

Not with the 64bit Chrome, but there is with the 32bit Chrome, which works well in 64bit openSuSE-11.4
This is the original announcement:

The error report in #3 indicates that this thread primarily concerns the 32bit version.

Right, thanks for that info

I don’t use 32 bit

Why use 32 bit? Is there a issue with _64?
