Is there a way to change this dull grey mini pin wheel curser to something a little more attractive…?

maybe if you tell us what operating system and version, and what desktop
environment and version, and what windows decorations and cursor theme
you are using that you don’t like…

and, take a screen shot and up it to paste.opensuse.org and send us the
URL, and maybe someone will . . .

well, if i knew you were using openSUSE 11.4 with KDE 4.6.0 i would know
where to send you to just set it up…

Could be talking about the Cursor theme? I think the theme DMZ has a gray spinning wheel. In KDE, you can change the cursor them by going to:

KDE menu / Personnel Settings / Workspace Appearance and Behavior / Cursor Theme and select something other than DMZ. I am using whiteglass myself.
