> (unless you are wrong).
that is a nice invitation to the potential helpers to STAY AWAY!
so, how did you move from 11.2 to 11.4 (that is, did you follow one of
the supported ways: http://tinyurl.com/35p966c or
http://tinyurl.com/6kvoflv
if you didn’t and i reread your invitation i might have to say, sorry i
can’t help you because you didn’t follow the yellow brick road, which
makes you wrong. . .
but i won’t say that…
but tell me, did you save your old home? and did you save the hidden
configure file for openshot…and, did you install the latest version
of openshot…did you install it with YaST or zypper from the openSUSE
repo, or ??
if you look at the log file /var/log/messages do you see any interesting
error messages from the openshot crash
how about if you look at the output in Alt+F10 (use Alt+F7 to return to
the gui
if you start openshot in a terminal, do you get the same crash and do
you get interesting errors, crash output you could copy paste back to here?
if you use YaST to add a new test user, log out and back in as the new
test user, then will OpenShot not crash?
so anyway, why don’t you go ahead and tell us what you mean by “OpenShot
crashes”…that is, does it never open…you don’t see anything
ever…or it opens and five (or how many) minutes later it just
disappears…or every time you do what does it go away? does it give a
error message?
that is, exactly what happens and when…remember we can not see your
computer and we can think of a hundred (more) things which might be
called a “crash”…
and, while providing us enough information to to try help you (and not
be wrong about it), go ahead and tell us what desktop environment and
version you are using also…
oh, and i just installed OpenShot using YaST and it seems to work
fine…so it is not a problem with a correctly installed and set up 11.4
and the latest openshot likewise treated…
see http://paste.opensuse.org/68045841
so, am i wrong?
