Default remotely controll and fix other opensuse installs

    Hello,

Over the past couple of years i have been converting other users (family members that I have to provide technical support to ) from windows to opensuse.
Needless to say, my job is much easier now.

Is there some application that I can install on the supported computers where I can remotely log in and control, make configuration changes, update, and fix dumb problems... when they come up?

regards and thanks for your time

sure, there are a variety of ways to do it..

one of the oldest and most proven would be to run sshd on each remote
box and then ssh into them via the network (even on the other side of
    earth)..

just need to be careful to set up each remote box with strong passwords
so the script kiddies can't crack it with a dictionary attack..

other folks will have other ways...like:

I am a little slow... and typically sidetracked....
It has been so long since I had to do any tech support since moving others to opensuse ....but I am going to try again....

Question: I am a little confused on the terminology.... on the computer that I want to fix via a vnc connection.... should that install be set up as a ONE TIME or as a PERSISTENT.... ( I am leaning toward persistent, cause to me it means that ...that computer is always listening for a connection)...

    am I correct?
