No taskbar in KDE 4.6

Hi

I’m running 11.4 with KDE 4.6 on a dual-monitor system. I cannot, for the life of me, get the taskbar to appear at the bottom of my main display (the laptop display).

I’ve tried to add the taskbar, system tray etc, but these appear as widgets on the desktop, rather than along the bottom of the display. Can anyone help?

A taskbar can be added to the panel, but you must first unlock widgets and then work form the the panel cashew to open the settings to add a widget to the panel

yep, there is some video stuff on my system i don’t understand
either…with a monitor plugged into my netbook i have an Fn key with
which i can select between:

  1. netbook monitor only
  2. external monitor only
  3. both netbook and external monitor

if i select external only it looks GREAT…
and, if i select netbook only it looks ok (not great because too small)

but, if i have both, then the locations of stuff is kinda screwy…and
it doesn’t seem to want to let me move taskbars and such…

all of those things (as far as i can tell) depend on the video
driver…in my case that is intel, and i guess mine works as good as it
can…what kinda video driver do you have…

have you looked at this: http://tinyurl.com/37v9y7m

if you have of course been there, then please excuse me for asking…i
am an idiot.
