Hi,

follow-up tho the thread here Vmware migration and testing (sorry, I
don't know how to search for a thread in the web side of things, it simply
doesn't work)

I have an XP guest for the purpose of connecting to the tom-tom device. It
worked fine when I had vmware server, but it fails with the player version.

I upgraded the machine per this recomendation:

<http://communities.vmware.com/thread/278581>

I get some messages boxes when connecting the tom-tom:

The specified device appears to be claimed by another driver (usb-storage)
on the host operating system which means that the device may be in use. To
continue, the device will first be disconnected from its current driver.

Ok.

The device "Elecom GO 750" was unable to connect to its ideal host
controller. An attempt will be made to connect this device to the best
available host controller. This may result in an undefined behavior for
this device.

Ok

The specified device appears to be claimed by another driver (usb-storage)
on the host operating system which means that the device may be in use. To
continue, the device will first be disconnected from its current driver.

Ok

What I get is a disk, that doesn't work. The "TomTom home" software says
there is no device connected. How come?

On the other hand, my Nokia phone via bluetooth does work on the same
virtual machine.

What can I do to get my tom-tom working? It is a pain not having linux
support. :-/
