Desktop folder Gone after lastest upgrade. 06/24/2011
After one of the latest upgrade/patches the desktop folder disappeared. It was there when the session was opened, the session hung (I was able to get in from the network).
When I restarted KDE the folder was gone. Anyone else have this issue?
Running nvidia with twinview on opensuse 11.4 x86_64

Hi, first of all, did you check if your desktop folder still exists in your home directory? Maybe you've accidentally deleted it.

Its easy to put a folder back on the desktop in KDE4. I typically have 2 or 3 folders.
Simply unlock widgets. Then right click on the task manager/bar on the bottom of the screen > select panel options > add widgets, scroll and add (drag) the folder widget to the desktop. Then tune it. If you still have the /home/username/Desktop directory, you can simply point the new folder to that old directory.
Do NOT forget to lock widgets when you are complete.
