    Default Screen Breaks Up

Still on 11.2!! This problem occurs only on the web. Viewing local files and mail work fine. Mail is provided by my ISP. Loading a page from any source on the web is fine for the initial download but paging down causes multiple broken lines. Reload generally fixes until the next page down.

The error log provides three incidents:
Error in parsing value for 'moz-border-radius'.
    Unknown property 'box-shaow'.
Error in parsing value for 'poition'.

All three end with "Declaration dropped" and point to:
    "forums.opensuse.org/clientscript/vbulletin_css/style00041l/additional.css?d=a303591784"

I cannot access this as I am told "Access forbidden".

This comes up on two PC's.

do you mean that when you scroll down the the same line of text may
appear several times...maybe with large empty spaces between the
lines....and, maybe not an entire readable line, maybe just the top half
    of the line?

if that is what you are describing, tell us about your graphics hardware
and driver....both of those available if you click on My Computer and
    look under "Display Info"..

also, tell us your operating system, its version and your desktop
    environment and version..

is this only happening in your browser, or also in other applications?
which browser are you using, and version..

if you have Desktop Effects enabled, does it still happen if you turn
    those off?

has this always happens since you first installed this operating system,
    or did it just start?

When I go to this page:

    forums.opensuse.org/clientscript/vbulletin_css/style00041l/additional.css?d=a303591784

It just says page not found. So I must ask:

    1. Firefox version, 4.0 is most recent
    2. Video Hardware & video driver if known
    3. Since 11.2 has been out a while, when did this trouble first come up?
    4. openSUSE 11.2 is or shortly will be unsupported. Have you considered an upgrade?

Thanks for your guidelines. Your description fits perfectly. I think that the answers here cover James's questions as well.
I have certainly considered 11.4 but the file is too large for me to download - am looking for a local source. Also looking for one that supports both printer and scanner fpr Canon MX320. Anyway here are answers, but I am confused by "Desktop Effects". Installation was straightforward from 11.2 CDROM.

    1. Matrox Gra[hics MGA 400 AGP - Driver mga
    2. Linux 2.6.31.14-0.8-default i686
    3. 4.3.5 (KDE 4.3.5) "release 0"
    4. MozillaFirefox 3.6.17-o.2.1
    openSUSE brand 3.5-8.10.1
    oxygen for Mozilla 1.4.90-3.31
    common translations 3.6.17-0.2.1

    Only occurs on Browser.

Just a couple of thoughts here: Is there a magazine shop around that sells Linux magazines? I would see if I could find openSUSE in one of those. Second, support for your graphics is not going to get any better. Not even sure how long support will continue. However, a minimal distribution of some sort might be better for you in your hardware situation. Unfortunately distributions keep going forward and getting bigger and which can require ever more resources from your computer.

Installed 11.4 - Problem solved. The new one is that filing sometimes dos not transfer to folder. Too little RAM? only 512K.

As long as you have enough swap file, tasks should just be slow, but not fail, if the OS does load successfully. However it has been a while since I tried to run a PC with only 512K. Even Windows XP had a problem trying to do only a couple of tasks with that little of memory. I would check your swap usage and see if it is maxed out or not. If too small, perhaps the swap file needs to be increased.

    Thank You,
Free Swap memory 1.8GiB of 2.1 GiB; 90% free. So it looks as if I must go for more Ram? I just love this 11.4 with it's KInfoCentre (had to spell it in English!).

One thing is for sure, when the swap is being used, you could use more memory. How much more? Well I would go for 1 GB I think (adding in one 512 MB stick), but it depends on how you got to 512 MB. All memory slots full and must replace both? Then perhaps go for 2GB (2 - 1 GB sticks of memory) if you intend on keeping the computer for a while.

    Thank You,
Well, it would seem that I have enough swap space. I have two additional RAM slots available that would take me to 1MiB. Yes, I am stuck with archaic technology and must push on regardless!
