    Default Wifi Can't turn on, on ASUS EeePC 1215K (openSUSE 11.4)

    hi all,

    i need help here, I'm new for openSUSE, I'm installing openSUSE 11.4 at my Asus 1215K laptop, it's work great, but when i try to turn on my wireless using wifi button, it's still off. and then i try type lspci -vnn at terminal, i see the hardware(atheros AR9285) and the hardware was detected by openSUSE, can someone help me how to turn on the hardware ???? >,<

    Hi
    You also need to check via the command rfkill as to what the state is, open a terminal and as root user run;
    Code:
    zypper in rfkill
    rfkill list
    If the one for the 'wireless lan' is softblocked, then run the command;
    Code:
    rfkill unblock 1
    Assuming 1 is the 'identifier' for 'wireless lan'

    thanks for the advice, i was add the repo, and update the wifi kernel, but it still can't make me turn on the wifi using wifi button.
    and i was install rfkill,
    result when i type rfkill list :
    0: phy0: Wireless LAN
    Soft blocked : no
    Hard Blocked : yes

    what should i do now?

    sudo rfkill unblock all

    i was type rfkill unblock all, but the result still same, hard blocked : yes,,
    i'm very confused >,<

    If the 'hard block' is on, this means the physical switch is the issue,
    need to maybe play with the switch....

    yes, i have windows 7, the wifi button is working normally.

    yea, the issue is, openSUSE can't detect the wifi button, what should i do??
    should i report this bug/issue ??
    very need help here
