Happened to me several times already.
When I try to launch any application it starts process but there is no window.
The only thing that helps is logout/login.
I use opensuse 11.4 with kde 4.6.
Is there anything to do about it?

i see you have been a member of the forum for over a year, so do i
assume your openSUSE just lately began this particular symptom?
did this symptom begin following an update, or ? ? ?
or, maybe you just recently upgraded from an earlier version and your
new 11.4 has been showing this problem from day one??
what application are you trying to launch? well, what ever it is open a
terminal and type in the executable, and see if you get any launch
feedback errors…if so, copy/paste those back to the forum…
