acer aspire 5732Z backlight

I have installed opensuse 11.4 on an acer aspire 5732Z and once finished the backlight is at it’s lowest settings and I can’t change that unless I boot with the option “nomodeset”

The backlight shortcut keys don’t work and the brightness slider in power management doesn’t either.
I have reinstalled twice. Once using gnome and the next time using kde.

Is this an Intel Graphics Card? I had an similar problem with a Travelmate,
for me the 5th tip from this Bugreport got the backlight working without the nomodeset option, although the backlight is now always at max and still cant be changed.

You could try updating your display driver.
