    Default Installing 11.4 scriptlets failing

I installed 11.4 i586 from installation DVD (fresh install) and noticed a couple of messages flying by. They all were of the type "script failed" and the reason was "could not find command ..." where the missing commands are rm, ln, mkdir and the like. Does this mean that a couple of packages are not properly installed?

One tends to say yes. Yet, the question should be: do you experience any harm from it? I see those messages every once in a while too. A couple of times I got the idea that it has something to do with the order of installing related packages. Also, in the past I checked some output I noticed after completion of the install, and folders, links etc were there, contrary to what the installer log said.

So far -- no. When these rpm scriptlets depend on coreutils being loaded first then they will fail. But at that stage the system is running in the ramdisk image loaded from the DVD and these commands should be available. I still guess that something is severely wrong.
