Default Upgrade to Tumbleweed from LiveDVD Gnome 3 based on openSUSE 11.4

First of all, sorry for my english, I´m Mexican

I download and install opensuse from the Gnome 3 page:

GNOME 3 - Made of Easy

and I want to upgrade to Tumbleweed, th only doubt I have is with the repos, I have the normally repos, just change that I have the "GNOME 3 stable" repo (or something like that, I dont remember well, Im not in my computer)

So the question is, I erase or I left that repo when I change to Tumbleweed?, of course, following the instructions in this forum.

Or what should I do to upgrade to Tumbleweed? Thanks in adavance.

Im glad to see what a great community have this distribution

Hello -- welcome to the forums. Can you please show us the repos that you have currently? Run this command in a Gnome Terminal and copy/paste the results back here:
    Code:
    zypper lr -u
Use the "code" formatter (see the hash # mark at top of editor) to make the code readable.

Default Re: Upgrade to Tumbleweed from LiveDVD Gnome 3 based on openSUSE 11.4

I would replace #1 with the Tumbleweed version of Gnome 3
    Code:
    http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed:/GNOME/openSUSE_Tumbleweed
    #2, #3, #4, #5 are good

I would replace #6 with Tumbleweed_Al_lOf_Packman from there
    Code:
    http://packman.inode.at/suse/openSUSE_Tumbleweed
    I would turn off #7 and #8

    #9 and #10 are good

    I would turn off #11

And I would add the standard Tumbleweed repo
    Code:
    http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/openSUSE:/Tumbleweed/standard/
Then I would run this command as root: zypper dup -D
The -D makes it a dummy run.

If you like what you see in the dummy run, you can run it again without the -D

This is a very big step. Before I made the final "zypper dup" I would back up the root partition so I could restore it if this process made a mess. I would copy the root partition to another storage place formatted as ext4, using the command (as root)
    Code:
    cp -a -u -v /path_to/origin/. /path_to/destination
    (the full stop is real)

You can't do that from the running openSUSE, but it's OK from a live CD. (I actually have a Linux multiboot to make this easy, but that's a different story).

Thanks so much men! but, I had read that the Gnome 3 repo from Tumbleweed will be merged with the main Tumbleweed repo, so, is necessary add the Gnome 3 repo from Tumbleweed?
Or just with the main Tumbleweed it should be fine?
I have another question, why when I reboot or shutdown it sound something like a "beep"?
    Thanks

Right now it hasn't been merged, so I recommend the suitye I put up. Whenh it has been merged, you can delete the TumbleweedGnome repo.

    I don't know. I don't think it's too concerning.
