    Default Stream stops in vlc

Under 11.3 32bit I could play my favorite station with vlc, but not with any other audio player. Under 11.4 32bit it stops playing after about a minute without any error reporting. Sometimes it starts up again, speeded up, then stops. Here's how I invoke it from the command line...

    "vlc http://www.garnierstreamingmedia.com/asx/streamerswitch.asp?stream=205"

No other audio player works with it now and only vlc worked before. It's not my internet connection because other stations play normally.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't play several other streams with vlc, although they play with clementine. So the problem seems to be more widespread.

listening to it now on 11.4 32 bit...throws lots of "Blocked" in the
    terminal, but plays ok...

    here are errors i got:

    Code:
    denverd@linux:~> vlc

only suggestion i could make is find better music to listen to ;-)

minutes of music and news without any problems..

start it up in a terminal and leave the terminal open so you can see
what is going on....then, copy paste the disaster back to here..

and, please show us the output of entering the following into a terminal

    Code:
    zypper lr -d
and copy/paste the output back to this thread using the instructions
    here: http://goo.gl/i3wnr

Thanks for the quick response. Answers in the same sequence.

    1. It's not the only music I like.
    2. They call it "Classic Rock".
    3. Language is Vlaams (Flemish, Dutch).
    4. Clean install from scratch.

I get the same screen output as you do except it stops and does not show any error. When I CTL-c out of it, I get...

^C[0x807a8bc] signals interface error: Caught Interrupt signal, exiting...

    ,,,which is normal.

Tried that. No change. BUT desperation set in, and I started playing with the audio output module in the vlc preferences. I changed it from "default" to "ALSA audio output". Then I changed the "device" from "default" to my hardware "SIS SI7012 (hw0,0)", and wonder of wonders, everything started to work.

The best news is still to come. Amsterdam Arrow Radio playing Radiohead's "Creep" suddenly turned into Saint-Saens "Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso". Now doesn't that make you happier? :-)
